Modern Passion

Modern passion

The passion that has always guided us producers of Franciacorta is the ever stronger and more significant feeling to which reference should be made, in order to explain the reasons for our resounding success.

Most producers are members of the Consortium for the Protection of Franciacorta. This trade organization has been working since 1990 to promote the image of the region and improve quality.
A strict and rigid production code was created in 1991 and, since then, it has been continuously updated.

Among the most important rules are: a maximum production per hectare of 12 tons of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Erbamat; minimum planting density of 4500 plants/hectare; a time of permanence on yeast for at least 18 months.
These very strict conditions were successful and, in 1995, the Franciacorta obtained the DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin), first among Italian sparkling wines made with bottle fermentation.
